The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) has taken an unprecedented initiative to honour world renowned Pakistani artist and calligrapher Sadequain. The New Year's greeting card sent out by PBIT has Sadequain's 'Qalander' printed on the cover. The said artwork was auctioned by the famous art auction house, Christie's in New York in September 2015. The painting fetched $173,000.

The greeting card was sent out to foreign diplomats along with government officials, prominent businessmen and media personnel. This is a positive step to promote Pakistan's heritage and to pay tribute to our local artists. This type of practice should be adopted at other government institutions as well. This proves PBIT's commitment towards a progressive Punjab.-PR
